Where the breeze finds its colors
A film depends on many people working toward one vision. The challenge was to bring the director’s vision to the screen within a limited shooting schedule, with a large team and tight time on set.
“La Brisa También Tiene Colores” (“The Breeze Also Has Colors”) is a short film made by a large creative team. I worked on it as Director of Photography, responsible for the film’s look and for leading the camera department.
I led a camera department of five people, fully committed to the project. I also worked closely with the gaffer, which let us carry out our lighting ideas within the time we had on set.
Setting the Visual North
As DoP, I had the creative freedom to test ideas, experiment and set the visual direction of the whole project. From there, every decision about image and light followed the same guiding idea, so the film looks like one piece from start to finish.
Result
We met our goals during the shoot: we finished on time and brought the director’s vision to life. The film was screened at Festival Mira at UPC (Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas).
