A first love
The footage was beautifully shot, but the story lives in a feeling: the dreamy, intense experience of falling in love. The look had to carry that feeling, and the project had to be completed in very little time.
Omosaurio is a young artist from Lima whose music blends alternative, folk and boleros. “Rotonda” is a romantic song about youthful love, the kind that feels like everything. In the music video, directed by Claudio Rojas, a young couple runs through Lima, wanders through Barranco and seals their romance with a kiss on the beach, breaking through the waves.
The Celluloid Dream
Together with the director, we decided that a film-like texture would best capture the dreamy mood of the song. I worked on both the color grade and the VFX to create that celluloid look, using color to express the warmth and emotion of a young relationship in the city.
Result
A finished music video where the image carries the song’s mood from the first frame to the kiss on the beach, delivered on a tight timeline.
